This is my KDE re-work of UU 1.7 Gnome/KDE. The Gnome side was very fully developed, but the KDE side was pretty much vanilla KDE, so I wanted to add a little style to it. The dock at the bottom is Kiba-dock. Easy enough to install, but it must be done from source, as it's a VERY young project and there are no pre-compiled binaries yet. The version shown here is the SVN Trunk revision 601. Very new, but very useable. It's really a dock for Gnome, but as long as the dependencies are there, it runs just fine on KDE and even XFCE.
The KDE menu replacement shown in the top-left is Tasty-menu. Very clean, lightweight and organized. It features a search funtion just like Kickoff, but you can integrate it with Strigi or Beagle if you want, and it's overall a lot less clumsy than kickoff and a lot nicer in general than the vanilla KDE menu.
At the very top is the default KDE panel, just moved to the top and set to be transparent.
The whole thing is good old-fashioned KDE 3.5.8. You don't need alot of twitchy bells and whistles like KDE4 in order to make an attractive and functional desktop.
