Hello...I haven't seen this question answered specifically ...
I have not installed. The hard drive is not working properly, so I run live and have no issue for the most part. Here is my issue: (and please let me know if this has nothing to do with running live cd)
Although I know the changes won't stay after reboot but...I can't seem to update or add new programs.
Thankfully this comes almost not needing anything :-) Great work!

*Please note I am super new to doing intermediate things in linux so this could be user error.

hi droidgigi

you have to be root to install programs(i hope you are aware)
Code: Select all
sudo su

you have to have a sufficient amount of ram also....if your hard-disk does not work....
If your running low on ram linux automatically caches to hdd.

Hi! Thanks for the reply.
I think that was among one of the first things I did learn...but thanks for the reminder because I didn't not remember that since it's been so long since I tried to install anything.
However, I tried it after reading this and still same error with this particular thing.
Will try the last one and see if this helps.
Although the hdd is not fully functioning it is detectable and I have a 32G flash drive inserted.

Try running from a USB stick:
