i have just made a video for my studies with the help of my HTC wildfire phone. all went ok but unknown to me i had the phone sideways on during the recording and hence the video is as it were on its side. how do i rotate the video so it can be burnt the right way up? it is currently in a 3gp format and 32 mins long. this is the first time i would be doing any kind of video work so im in unfamiliar territory. i have looked at Pitivi but i cant see where i can rotate the clip to the correct way i want. maybe some other application is available, not sure

thanks.

First use ffmpeg from terminal to convert to an avi then use any video editor to rotate your video.
Code: Select all
ffmpeg -i clip.3gp -f avi -vcodec xvid -acodec mp3 -ar 22050 file.avi

you need to install the codecs previously. All the xvid,mp3,avi,3gp codecs can be updated very easily in the debian based distros. All other disros also having the codecs in their own repositories. any further issues or question feel free to post .
