mounting and unmounting issue +1

Postby oceania68 » Fri May 20, 2011 11:23 am

not sure if anyone else had this, i couldnt find anything.. but

after mounting an ISO as root as easy as right click-script-mount ISO put in root password and hey presto, ISO mounted, not a problem, the issue is, unmounting, now the logical thing to do would be to reverse script for unmounting, aka, auto up the root password to allow admin rights to unmount... Im sure Mr Guru has a solution :D otherwise its probably a reboot needed...

oh and the "Authenticate" windows stays up after input from user when installing, but works after hit the "close" icon... it only started doing that recently, not sure why...

Authentication windows problem is common on all releases of ubuntu.

Has been for YEARS.

Only happens some times, but not often. I have found updates helped fix it in every case.

something I have not been able to do is to get my Windows NTFS drive to automount. I keep files I use in both Ultimate Edition and Win on them and have to manually remount it whenever I restart

In addition to what BW said you might like his guide: Dual-Boot Windows 7 and Ultimate in Perfect Harmony
Keeping everything that both windows & Linux uses on a partition apart from either can save all your stuff and keep it organized.
