Guru, that is great news. On my very limited experience, Gnome 3 is far superior to Unity.
Modded Acer Aspire box now with Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 motherboard; AMD FX-6100 6-core CPU; 16gb RAM; 1Tb Seagate SATA HDD; Ultimate Edition 3.5 64bit. Dual booting with Windows7 64bit.

Not a fan of gnome 3 either. Any votes for Enlightenment?

Please?

Either way, I found stock buntu with unity just pointless... and dead dog slow. Been on Kubuntu for a few weeks now and all seems fine. First time I've ever spent more than a couple minutes with KDE and kinda liking it. At least I can reliably get the mouse cursor I want.

Hang tight, Ultimate Edition 3.0 is almost there.

I have this on good authority.

well dual 5870's and 5670 HD I have not seen that issue my self.

BUT ya know that odd resize button on the GTK interface at the bottom of the window ? I can tell ya how to remove that, see if it helps.

If you are using unity, I would suggest you try classic and see if the problem persists.
