It works, but not like you would hope.

Good deal of Ultimate Edition customization will be removed.

Little work, 11.04 can be made to look and act like Ultimate Edition 2.9. This will get ya by till Ultimate Edition 3.0 arrives.

So you are insinuating that it's a good idea to come here and READ before doing something stupid??

Seriously, I THOUGHT about!!! I almost did...

Well, at least I CAN say THIS:

It's the first place I came after I got my system back!

I had just upgraded 10.10 to 11.04 on my regular ubuntu OS and it took forever and I noticed that with 2.9 it keeps asking for a CD in order to upgrade and BOY was it taking a long time so I won't be doing that today. I hope a 3.0 DVD will do the trick whenever that happens. ;)

ONe cool thing though is Grub is dark purple and white not black and white. :D

The sad thing is that I thought about coming here before I did that. And I didn't have enough room on the partition, so I had to reboot into Partition Magic to resize the partitions on my disk. (With the size of disks these days, why would I even have such a small partition? DOH!)

So I with all of that, I could have easily come here and saved a lot of time. Thankfully, a fresh reinstall fixed everything pretty easily. But the reason I kept talking myself out of checking the website was because I didn't think something like that would get through the update manager unless it was safe. I am not very familiar with Ubuntu and would never come near it except for Ultimate Edition.

Hello, If 2.9 keeps asking for the CD to upgrade, please check this window in the SYSTEM/ ADMINISTRATION/UPDATE MANAGER

I was going to upgrade my 2.6.1, then it said it was going to remove 23 packages, Ultamatix being one of them.. I think I wait for 3 and see how it looks. Asked about it, but wasn't sure I understood the answer. This kinda cleared it up.
Thanks for the info!
