FYI Ultimate Edition 2.9 and 4000 series have issues in live mode.

Simple fix, install in safe graphics mode, then load to safe graphics mode.

Install cat 11.2 or 11.3 or use my little tweakage to use 11.4b with 11.3 control file.

More to do with kernel and lack of support, so a kernel update is HIGHLY recommended.

http://screenshotsfrlinux.freeforums.org/how-to-update-debian-kernel-to-2-6-38-2-candera-ati-nvidia-t258.html

You can also pick the easy way out and download the kernel from here http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v2.6.38.3-natty/ remember BOTH header packs with the image. Pre patched and ready to rock.

Only Cat 11.4b work with 2.6.38 kernel sets, so follow the tutorial.

Yea, I tried to find safe graphics mode in the boot menu, don't see it. I am sure it is a keystroke away.

tried once before I left (I am away from it now) and it didn't want to boot with any speed. I restarted and did it again, I will come back to it in a couple hours and see what we have.

like I said man kernel update is highly recommended to.

The new 2.6.38.3 final looks to support 99% of all wireless including all STA native.

So there is no real need not to upgrade now.

found this
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BootO ... %20Options
and realized I entered the xforcevesa command incorrectly, I had an extra "-" in the command.
I have to be able to get this installed first before I update the kernal!
