Okay, I have the grub boot-menu, and 2.6 recovery mode/low graphics, can I install 2.9 from the 2.6 desktop?

If possible, how is it done...I'm windows literate, but linux is still new to me...

thanks-

You mean update/upgrade to it from 2.6.1? I could be wrong, but I believe they recommend a fresh install.

I wasn't trying to upgrade, I was just trying to get into a 'safe graphics mode' so to install 2.9 64-bit...

I gave-up and decided just to burn the 32-bit iso...& it installed without a hitch!

Now all that's left is to configure my boot-manager, and customize the desktop-

Thanks!

Where is the latest iso download for 2.6.1?

This download link http://ultimateedition.info/ is a 2.48 GB file,...

The file at http://sourceforge.net/projects/ultimateedition/files/ is a 2.5 GB file....

Both appear to be the latest-

It's too good not to have the most recent-

Thanks-
