Guru,

Your Sir are DEFINITELY a guru and might even be the Oracle

After redoing all the things mentioned in your previous email, minus the one before this, you called it perfect.

I was searching around and found that to use the CPU monitoring desklet accurately, I have a quad core so I needed to open 4 instances of it. As luck would have it CPU0 & 2 was 100% but CPU1 & 3 weren't doing anything basically.

It was a setting in the BIOS for all the trouble. I'm not a 100% sure which one unfortunately, just did the "optimized defaults" setting a it started working.

One more question, if I may, would it be beneficial to upgrade to the latest kernel now since everything seems to be working?!

I bow to you Oracle again
Thanks a bunch
Steve

It is always beneficial to use the latest kernel if your hardware supports it.

You already installed 2.6.38.1 right ?

If so and it is working, your done.

Enjoy.

I did have it on last night but first thing this morning I used the older kernel you suggested. It didn't seem to hurt anything so I think I'll go right back to it.

Thanks again
