Keeping my kids safe!

I need a recommendation as to what package/s would I use to keep my nine year old safe while on the Internet.

I am interested in securing certain protocols (chat, im, file-sharing etc)
I am wanting to keep the kid within non-adult browsing.

I only want to control the kids PC and no others in the house.

I have looked at DNS options but hat seems a little too extreme at this point!

There is an abundance of info. in this thread on that topic.
HOWTO: Parental control. Now with GUI too! (updated version)
Don't let the date of it's creation throw you off it was updated 1 week ago.
Gnome Nanny looks pretty cool and has been recommended fairly often.

Only way kids are safe on the net are when they are using it in front of you. ;)

Hello jshuford.

The best way to protect your Kids is to use the plug in for Firefox by the name of - "WOT" ,
and configure it to max protection.
This will close the window with big worming on the screen that will say the site can hart your machine.
