Hi dears ,

i Download Ultimate Edition 2.7 But still have NVIDIA Problem :(( i hoped in this new Version my Problem will be Fix but Not :(

Code: Select all
ERROR: Unable to load the kernel module ‘nvidia.ko’. This happens most frequently when this kernel module was built against the wrong or improperly configured kernel sources, with a version of gcc that differs from the one used to build the target kernel, or if a driver such as rivafb/nvidiafb is present and prevents the NVIDIA kernel module from obtaining ownership of the NVIDIA graphics device(s), or NVIDIA GPU installed in this system is not supported by this NVIDIA Linux graphics driver release.

I agree, this appears to be an easy fix between 2.6 -7. What happened??? Or have I been out walking in the
wood for too longs?? 8^((

Hello mcgo+KherKhere.

OK let's see way to solution for you.
1- In Ubuntu Tweak=>3 party=>add Ubuntu X+ Nvidia source,did you add them?
2- After the adding the sources , did you open terminal / Update/Upgrade?
3- Did you have Refresh synaptic/Upgrade - Apply?
4- After Restart your machines did you have try to Update/Upgrade again your machines?

The 2.6.32.22 kernel version and nvidia driver issue still persists and it's not the Ultimate Edition's fault or even Ubuntu's.You better use the 2.6.32.21 kernel and remove the 22 one.The 2.6.32.22-server kernel is working very well too. :) <BREW>

I don´t believe you understood the intent of my message, we would all have been far happier
if Ultimate Edition 2.7 had launched 2 monthes from now with a definitive solution to the Nvidia issue than
the current need to re-engineer a solution post-download. I really don´t know what portion of
Ultimate Edition users have Nvidia cards, 40-50%, but to deny it´s a major issue is a real bummer, nothing personal!

MCGO - and I´m not going stop using Ultimate Edition!
