Just a quick note to identify a minor issue that in no way affects performance. I just installed 2.6.5 from the fresh ISO and noticed during the install that one of the slides, for lack of a better name, that shows during the install routine states something to the effect that "Ultimate edition 2.8 is...." It's probably a carryover from the installer used for 2.8, but something Thee may be interested in knowing is there.
The system is absolutely flawless. I have not run 2.6 in a while, but I keep going back to it. Knowing I have another year to use it is just a bonus since support won't end till 4/13.
Note to anyone who has NOT installed 2.6.5, it now includes kernel 3.0.8!!! Big step forward from 2.6.32 and Thee has taken care of it for us so no compiling necessary.
Kudos on 2.6.5. Best Gnome 2 I have ever seen.
