What is the NEW kernel 2.6.3?.? You will have to forgive me I am running so many differant "K's" Its hard to keep track !!! :oops:

The new kernal is giving me a low graphics mode error, and scrunched video, I think I need some xorg re-building, and am not sure how to do that.

Have you tried to reinstall your Vid. Drivers? :ugeek:

can't get that far. I don't get to a desktop, Both Kernals hang before I get to a desktop

Can you boot in to recovery mode ? And can you access your ailing install through your Ultimate Edition 2.8
+ new and old kernel numbers Please ! :ugeek:

lol! Yea, I know we need more info, I will get my laptop up and running so I can do this in real time.

OK I logged in and frankly both 2.6.32-28 (the new kernal) and 2.6.32-27 is hosed. The graphics are lowres and not totally on screen- unworkable. I am sure this is an xorg issue, I tried to run nvidia-xconfig in recovery mode and that didn't work. I did manage to install the uninstalled updates, but it still looks like garbage.

so IS there anything us nvidia users can do to get drivers running on 2.6.1? Ive never manually installed a video driver in Ultimate Edition help
