My mouse pointer won't activate

I'm customizing my own theme, and I got to the part were you select your mouse pointer, whatever one I click on, it never works. How do I get it to work?

If you are going to use another (different) cursor install as you normally would, follow TheeMahn"s how to,Download the .targz he has provided when you change a cursor you must change the "name" and "Inherits" of the cursor in the index.theme to the name of the new cursor !

There was an update for compiz-core this morning that may help. I just can't remember which OS I was running at the time so you might check. I'm running so many versions...lol.
System > Administration > Update Manager

Well, that did not work...I hope they update it in Lucid (?) soon, but it was not in any of the repro's updates I ran yesterday, and I activated even the pre-realeased ones, where, I normally don't mess with those updates......

Thanks, though, I'll just switch it back to the Ultimate Edition 2.6 cursor until the permanent fix is updated properly
