that is what I am doing, but I am the kind of person that like everything working on my side, so if something does not work, and can't be fixed to me its just a waste of space, I have done everything on my part and I have achieved nothing regarding my problem, but you are right, I will just have to use gnome even knowing that kde is using some extra space, ( I am a very stubborn person and I removed kde desktop and more than half of the system was gone) so I don't recommend uninstalling kde desktop, unless you are an expert to deal with broken dependencies and stuffs. but I am loving my ultimate edition, this is the first time that I actually use ultimate edition and ubuntu.

Hello ladies and gets here is the safe way to remove KDE 4.2.4/4.3:

Code: Select all
sudo aptitude remove kubuntu-desktop

If you installed it using apt-get:
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get autoremove kde --purge

or

Code: Select all
sudo apt-get autoremove kubuntu-desktop --purge

I recommend only removing kde [only] if you really feel the need to!!
