Sorry to say that, Ultimate Edition as a limited prescribe pool of beta testers. We don't like to release a unstable release, we always try to get most of the major bugs/glitches sorted out before we make the general public join in on the party. Thanks for the offer, but we can't accept. Have a great day in the Ultimate Edition Land!![/quote]

Oh I understand that you don't want to have 2.3 out before it goes main stream release. If i was let in on the testing I would not make that mistake. I am a normal Ubuntu user most of the time. I stop in and always check out the latest version of ultimate. I was on 2.1 but dropped it because I wanted 9.04 and 2.2 was taking a while to release. I am assuming that there was stuff going on in Theemans life. I hope all worked out well. Glad that 2.2 has been released. I am running it now. Its basically the same setup I had from my own custom build on regular Ubuntu. Just a few more things installed. I currently have KDE 4.2 and XFCE4 running on mine too. Not to mention a few other things. I have been a regular on the Ubuntu forums for 3 years. My post count is 600 something. Mostly that high from helping others in the beginners section. Giving back to the community that helped teach me.

So I figured I would try to give back to you all and do some testing. More people the better. Helps find the bugs. :)

I understand the point that your trying to make & really appreciate it, but as said earlier. We can't accept such an offer. I hope you understand this!! Most if not all users here would like to be a beta tester, so your not the only one that Is willing to render assistance to the community!! If its a case that we need extra beta tester, you will be notified.

Wll, I guess you fall in the one in ten members that wouldn't love to be a beta tester here :o . Beta testing in linux is like testing a perfectly working os without bugs, its like the final product, not like windoz!!

If u see it on that way... i can say the 99.9% of the ppl is a beta testers, who didnt try windows or use windows, even those lovers of linux sometime has to "fight" again windows... its trying to be everywhere, even on movil as Windows Mobile.... can u imagine a Smartphone with Ultimate Edition?? :D

In window, there is a several kind of user levels:

RC Testers : Users who has the hability and knolegd to "fix" and works safe and fast on windows
Beta Testers : Every user on Windows
Alpha Tester : Those poor users trying to be impress with Vista & W7
Dev Testers : All AKA "Beta testers" & "programers"

Lol...This is semi true in linux....the only sin is that the user won't file a bug report when something doesn't work.Linux is community driven. If the devs don't know whats wrong they can't fix it. ;)

Hey guys/gals. New to the forum, but I had to come say what I thought about Ultimate Edition 2.2. I was impressed with they way you have it setup. Even in live mode before installing, it was fairly fast in responding to opening apps and such, compared to Ubuntu 9.04 with its live mode. I read some where it would take 20 - 25 minutes to install. Well, it only took about 13 minutes on mine, but I guess it really depends on your machine.

I have a MSI MS-1722 GX720 notebook with Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 2.26GHz L2 3MB Cache, 4GB DDR2 800Mhz memory, Nvidia Geforce 9600 GT 512MB, Intel Ultimate N WiFi Link 5300, ST9320421AS 320GB SATA 2 16MB 7200 RPM HD.

After the install, I was impressed with all the software installed, which clearly makes you understand the size of the iso. Everything works right from the beginning, but Ubuntu 9.04 pretty much did the same, on mine that is. The only thing I'm still having problems is the sound though, which is a common problem with any linux OS I install. It has a 5 speakers and it always wants to direct the sound through the bass speaker. Been reading quite a few forums trying to resolve this problem, but with no success.

Any ways, figured I would drop a line giving props for the hard work. I will definitely will be downloading 2.3 when it is available.

Maybe mental, but no giant.
