Thanks ixnod, I look forward to yours & drama's input (only because a die hard debian man). I do have bad news for you, do not think as final I am trying to tell you now minus customisations I drop ;) Yes it is solid, I challenge you to find the hammer ;) That is how close we are, but you will enjoy it prior. Thanks for doing so about 7 hrs before it finishes uploading. Damn, I try to hide it from the public see what happens? Lets set this a global thread ;) No I am not going to do so. I do appreciate all you guys do.

Ultimate Edition 2.3, even though I hate KDE, I have my taste of kde and always learn. Do you think in my best interest a KDE version separate from gnome, I offer the only distro that has all the above off 1 disk to the best of my knowledge please insight me ;) Does not exist, but from here. Please elaborate Not here, but admin.

Based on your sig... are you trying to tell me you want to be a beta tester? I get those requests all day long ;) No Ultimate Edition 2.3 is Ultimate Edition 2.2 upgraded & additions this means Gnome, KDE, XFCE side by side in a single distro, the bonus's I refer to are requested XBMC for example GTK based antivirus scanner not for Ultimate Edition, but to scan your windows drive ;) Lanshark is not in Ultimate Edition 2.2 lets see if it is in Ultimate Edition 2.3 once again an example, does not install in Ultimate Edition 2.2 chroot I am way beyond that. The errors software makers make I clean up. Do I slander them NO, my admin can see some of what I see. I do not file "bug reports" if I can fix them w/o an overhaul. Everything just comes easy to me. KDE has been anything, but easy to me, but I am always learning.

Let me try and break this down, eventually I will know virtually everything about KDE, gnome to me is now on the back burner & when I am done have a full audience. Did you know I see things happen in real time & could say don't do that... it is not in compliance... Who makes those decisions in our *nix world? I am not talking debian, ubuntu, but *nix based O/S's? No my name is not lintian. I will however always take that extra step to ensure your Ultimate Edition 4.4 & what lintian does not catch ;) Ultimately this is what gets me I am but 1 man, how many do they have?

and thanks btw,

No, I really don't want to be a beta tester/ I would rather use an OS that works! I have two computer friends ; one of them got me interested in Linux in general, and the other pieces computers together. 5 of my computer came from him. So, they are not expensive name brand systems and that allows me to play around with different OS's and learn things that I wouldn't be able to do if I had but one or two computers. I learned how to network all of them together and share files between all the computers. This also allows me to play computers games with friends over my network. I have had fun replacing/upgrading cards, drives, memory etc. Some of this I have done to challenge my 8 yr old nephew, he comes each weekend to play games, surf the net. etc, he can use any of my computers and any OS, he is getting all A's in computer classes at school. I can only imagine what he will be able to do in a few more years. He can already help to troubleshoot problems with software or hardware! Amazing!

hey dathem, I have an old amd single core 2.3G amd box, with agp graphics and a whole 1 gig of ram i can put any one of thee's distro's on via live cd or USB take out half the ram, dvd player and hard drive, and I can guarantee you that it will run. after install and tweaks, I can get up running and on the net with a 4 gig eide hard drive faster than most windows installs.

I have tasked that box to cluster.... file serve for music and video.....firewall.... beta test burn in and of course torrent seed box

Hey Ixnod, Isn't it amazing what you can do with an older computer and a good linux distro! When I stated with these older units, they had only 512 meg ram, 20 gig HDD, and like 68 megsvideo card, I put in a 128 meg video Nvidia card and had 6 desktops w 3D cube effects enabled. I had music playing with visualizations on a seperate desktop, a spread sheet open, Firefox surfing the net, picture folder open with several hundred photo's and a blank CD folder open to copy data and pic files to burn. Plus an external drive with folder window open, I could spin the cube around-not real fast but it didn't crash as I was moving files around, copy/paste, etc. All this and I still didn't use the full power of the 2.8 celerion processor. This same computer with XP on it couldn't do all that without slowing to a crawl!

I am running 2.2 on my Dell Latitude C510! 1 gig RAM 160G HD (10 gig for XP) running at 1.2 Ghz Celeron
runs just fine. I am not running Compiz or any screen funnies. And I am not trying to run any big ass games, but it's just fine on this old slow machine.

VISTA!!

Very kind of you to call Vista a "beta" version, it feels more like an early PRE-ALPHA stage

They talked to much about the new WinFS that will be included in Vista, and now I don't even see it happening on the Windows 7 release!!! How hard can be to write a new FS??? I mean, for those that know the job, of course... How many friggin years do you need to release a darn OS version that just works? Let's count, from Win XP to Windows 7 (Assuming that it will do what they claim to...)
Windows XP was first released on 25 October 2001
Microsoft has stated that it plans to release Windows 7 to manufacturing starting the end of July 2009, with general retail availability set for October 22, 2009

EIGHT @$#! YEARS??? What the heck are you doing there at Redmond guys???

That's why I always say to TheeMahn that if he releases only twice a year, a little after the official Ubuntu Releases it will be still much better and he will have time to fix stuff, to write Ultamatix, to plan the new release slowly, to maintain a good repo server if wanted, etc, but guess what? He don't listen! He prefers to remain sleepless !
I guess Thee has his motives and is not willing to tell them to us, but all we can is to be grateful for his job.
