everton ,

Let's stop here for one min please.
we all want to help here, but it looks like we going around the issue all the time.
so If you made log in to your modem/router,
and you have made the changes to get DHCP,and you have configured your wireless Network right.
I do not see any problem for your machine to get connected with wire or with wireless.
The issue is with the configuration in the modem/router.
You have install all the managers, but come up with nothing here.
so just log in to your modem/router and see if your configuration is made correct to wired and wireless.
then Restart your machine, and see if you gut the Network on with wired - then with wireless.
And please update us on the issue.

The issue is with the configuration in the modem/router.

Could be...but configs don't change by them selfs. If thats the case then reset the modem/router.It will fall into setting that you should be able to connect.

Unless he updated...I'm still waiting for an answer. If he updated to an newer kernel then the old madwifi driver wasn't compiled with it.

Cell,

The only way to get Answer from him will be if he will reset the modem/router,
Then he will log in to the modem and make the configuration right.
The next step will be to start with the Network Manager.
We all work with him all around with the managers, but no go of any of them.
So it's time to reset the modem/router and start over on the process.
we don't know what he did when he work alone. ;)

I take that as a yes then.Theres nothing wrong with updating just as long as you know what is being updated.

In my post I gave you a link to "read"...follow the instructions for the wifi bit,and you should be fine.Or you can boot into an lower kernel, and the wifi should work too.

I think the best thing for you to do(based on the posts here. You don't seem comfortable with the possible solutions provided) I would think about reinstalling

Cheers,and good luck

everton,

So way this post is on 2.2?
That make us propose to you some of the solution for 2.2
If that so,please look on the upgrade process that I have post on 2.3 to 9.10.
If you can do it fine,if not just wait for 2.4.
For few days that can wait I think,we have cover all the options here for this issue with the kernel option.
