True....but its not to drastic to only try it on one.You can always remaster your system with rematersys(back up your whole system in an iso format),and then reinstall with an ext3 file system just to test it.(there's a recent post about how to use remastersys)As for going from ext4 to ext3...I don't believe you can.Of course I could have misread the ext4 wiki.
Actually, you have a point, I can use clonezilla to back up the partition, in fact, a better idea would be to install 2.2 x64 on an external usb hd partition I use for testing. That will at least test the hypothesis. Thanks.
Hi Zermelo,
I seem to recall that Ubuntu 9.04 introduced a new usplash routine and people were having all kinds of issues trying to change their usplash theme. Could there be a link here? possibly. For the sake of the argument, have you tried disabling usplash? link: http://ubuntu-tutorials.com/2009/07/06/ ... untu-9-04/
If this is indeed the problem, you could always use splashy instead?
In Peace.
