Stream Tuner

Help & support for Ultimate Edition 2.1

Stream Tuner

Postby sonnyrme » Tue Mar 24, 2009 11:30 pm

I have the same problem still. When I used 1.8 I Loved Ultimate Edition!! I made it my desktop. Then I switched to 1.9 & could not get streamtuner to record. I wrote in. Then I switched Os's so I could get my music. 2.0 came out. I tried it. Still streamtuner would not record. I wrote in. Read the replies that I could use VLC and record. I read all the info & could not get it to work. Went back to another distro (Linux Mint). Now I have tried 2.1 & still cannot get streamtuner to record. I am using the same settings that were used in 1.8, the same ones used in other distro's, and still cannot record.
Problem is... I loved using Ultimate Edition. But I also loved to record off Shoutcast & Xiph. I love to listen to my music while I am on the computer. I know there is a lot of work in making this distro & I love the way it is going. But is there any relief in my problem? I am not that good at the command line & commands.
I would love to use Ultimate Edition again. But I don't want to switch Hard drives just to record off Streamtuner. Mint is doing everything so far. I would love to come back to Ultimate Edition though. Any help?
Thank you

I guess the best place to start is to find all the dependencies for stream tuner and force the versions using Synaptic that made it work before in 1.8. I have had to go back a kernel or two before to get stuff to work and also use older versions of software once in a while. Just don't update the forced versions.

Thanks, Cell. I tried Tunapie also but it did not work. Will try again & redo the settings a little.
Thanks, pch.shot also. I had not thought about that. If Tuna pie does not work, I will try that.
Sadly I am on my Mint drive right now. Will finish things up & switch over to Ultimate Edition.
Thank you guys for your help, I know it is a small matter but to me it is important.

' I know it is a small matter but to me it is important.'
Hey Bud, when it comes to tunes it is of the utmost importance. I have dumped Distros if I can't get my tunes going. That is one of the first things I do.....
