At the kernel boot prompt hit Esc and add VGA=769 at the end of the kernel line and boot.

LOL you guys dont eva stop helping do ya :D

@Cell, Running great, but I took out the other 2 512 sticks so it somewhat slow, ill get them back in later.

@artifacts, shure ill try it, actualy this system is not my main one, its for me to mess around with and for a spare when me and friends LAN. Mostly Counter-Strike 1.6 and CS:S, sometimes HL2 mods, so it dont need to be perfect just need decent framrates on low settings.

@pch.shot, how is that i7 over the C2D? I was going for the AMD phenom on the new AM3 board, but I wana know what your opinion is on that i7. :D

Edit - Maybe I spoke too soon, literally... :D

The i7 encodes flash to divx using virtualdub 3 times as fast as my E6400(core 2 duo-4 seconds for a 3 minute youtube video). It can rip a 2 hour dvd to mp4 using handbrake in 10 minutes. Software that utilize all the cores(each can handle 2 threads) will smoke. Mind you it's an 800 buck upgrade(socket 1366 motherboard and ddr3 ram). I got the cheapest board there is and 3 gigs of ram. If you get the top of the line Asus with 3 pci express setup and 6 gigs of ram you are talking closer to 1200. That is my 2 year upgrade cycle. My last one cost 2000. I spent another 200 getting a larger hard drive, another case/psu and sata optical drive so it came to 1000. I spend a lot of time on my computers so I figure it is worth it. I used to spend a 1000 in a week drinking at a bar back in the day. Now instead of drinking myself sober everyday(I did that for close to 35 years) I teach myself computers.

Just last night was trying to put Ultimate Edition 2.1 on wifes old PC (she's got a new one) and exactly the same happed. It's an 5 year old Celleron 2,4 Ghz with 1,5 Mb ram. Our daughter have had it for some time when hers was down. I had installed gOS on it when she lent it ( and that nearly as bad as win ) - OK, I'm babbling - The point is: There is both a CD (slave) and a DVD (master) in it, and for some odd reason is it possible to install from CD with the DVD connected, but not from DVD without disconnecting the CD device. That cleared the problem for me ;)
