First word that comes to mind when browsing http://ultimateedition.info. TMOSB and Ultimate Server Edition... WOW I have some cool things to look forward to playing with. It has been way too long and I have some catching up to do. No more Ultimate Edition machines in the house, will def have to spin up some Ultimate Edition guests untill that changes. After I got rid of my laptop and desktop I found myself a nice little server replacement. And when you manage servers, it will most likely be rpm based, so I chose a cool spin testing ground for this one 8-) :

MATE-Compiz Spin with all the plugins that have now become extinct :x , just a working like the good ol days:
[root@microhost ~]# cat /etc/issue
Fedora release 21 (Twenty One)
Kernel \r on an \m (\l)

[root@microhost ~]# uname -a
Linux microhost 4.0.4-200.fc21.x86_64 #1 SMP Mon May 18 18:57:55 UTC 2015 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

[root@microhost ~]# cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep model
model : 60
model name : Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E3-1225 v3 @ 3.20GHz
model : 60
model name : Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E3-1225 v3 @ 3.20GHz

Yeah I def need to buy some memory :lol: :

[root@microhost ~]# free -m
total used free shared buff/cache available
Mem: 2790 370 1483 105 937 2091
Swap: 8191 0 8191

And since I have SSD's and run guests I needed some swap. But that 8 GB sits on HHD and is told only to be used if absolutely necessary ;) :

[root@microhost ~]# sysctl vm.swappiness
vm.swappiness = 1
[root@microhost ~]# cat /usr/lib/sysctl.d/00-system.conf
# Kernel sysctl configuration file
# Controls the maximum shared segment size, in bytes
kernel.shmmax = 4294967295
# Controls the maximum number of shared memory segments, in pages
kernel.shmall = 268435456
#Memory/Swap Use
vm.swappiness=1

[root@microhost ~]# cat /etc/fstab | grep UUID

One thing I do have is capacity :D :

[root@microhost ~]# df -h

tmpfs 1.4G 80K 1.4G 1% /dev/shm

/dev/sdf1 2.8T 2.4T 395G 86% /run/media/micro/Storage2

And 3 network ports for throughput :P :

[root@microhost ~]# ifconfig | grep 'bond\|en'
bond0: flags=5187<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MASTER,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
inet6 fe80::215:17ff:fe1d:b0e0 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x20<link>

inet6 ::1 prefixlen 128 scopeid 0x10<host>
loop txqueuelen 0 (Local Loopback)

And to be a wise guy :downthere :

[root@microhost ~]# dmesg | grep error
[root@microhost ~]# cat /var/log/messages | grep error
[root@microhost ~]#

I can see this machine becoming an Ultimate Edition Server in the near future. Cheers to all the progress and good to be back online here at Ultimate...

Nice Processor. <BREW> I picked up my TS 440 for $375.00 online and threw in some ssds and hdd storage I had laying around the house. I'm still shocked how cheap they are with zeon options and ecc memory. For the price I may just order another one and build a VCS Cluster. 8-)
