And that is what I intend to do - abandon the idea of making this adaptor work. I believe that I have researched the issue fully enough to conclude that nobody has published a method to use the USB adaptor that I have. Thus, I have purchased a Belkin F5D7050 unit on eBay for $15 that has favorable reviews, re Ubuntu Intrepid. See:

Sometimes you have to do what you have to do I went thru the same thing with a Liknsys card WMP54GX...just couldn't get it to work, no matter what...replaced it with a Linksys WMP54G...and never had a bit more trouble...never would have thought that the one letter "X" would have caused me so much heart ache, guess I forgot about all my other "X'S" at the time

How about I shove something wireless where the sun don't shine. I'm not the one who is always struggling with wireless crap. I have a wireless keyboard and mouse and hate them both. Wireless is a necessary evil in some situations(like a home theater setup) If God had wanted wireless he would have made your dick wireless so you could deny any wrong doings!!! My favorite is people that buy a wireless keyboard and mouse and set in right in front of their monitor and never move it. The airwaves are already full of crap so that useful services like police and medical get interfered with. It's kind of like people text messaging or talking on a cell phone sitting in the same room. Next you'll be telling me cell phones are advanced and I should get one of those as well(I have one already-it sits in a drawer shut off). And an Ipod that might last a year. If that is the best the 21st century has to offer, I'll pass TYVM!!!!
