before the next download i would like to know something.
because 3 days and a bad download hurts a lot.
but i won't stop cause this 1.9 looks so much exciting.can't wait to get it :D
my system spec:
Intel pentium d 3.0 Ghz
ram: 512 mb ddr2
motherboard: intel 945gcnl
built in 128 mb graphics card
1 samsung writer and 1 asus dvd rom
is it enough for ultimate edition 1.9 32 bit.

Welcome :D Your system should run 32 bit version...however, it depends what you're expecting...you could use a little more ram, and the built in graphics might be a little light, just depends on what you expect to be doing...I would say there are games on the "gamers edition" that might not function up to expectations due to lower graphics specs...and "compiz" should work, but just be aware that many of these graphics intensive programs require more horsepower...I say "GO for it" what do you have to lose??? It is free...after-all :D

Even though everyone looks at me as the creator of Ultimate Edition (it is the Ultimate Edition team), w/o beta testers, reality begins to fade, they deserve just as much credit as I do.

Now to take a trip right down your alley... I am modifying a tool called Unetbootin (released GPL, it is the bomb they even tell you how to modify it and stamp it with your distro as I have done, I have already created a deb (they did not have to tell me how to do this ;) for it for linux users and a exe for windows users) It is work in progress, will it be included in Ultimate Edition 2.0? Absolutely, no need for a DVD drive / CDrom drive any more, just because it says Ultimate Edition LiveUSB Creator, it does much more then that I suggest a read from the true authors website, I love to give credit. A few shots to warm up...

all versions will be listed (not totally done yet) Selection...

Downloading Ultimate Edition 1.9 x86

Injecting the thumbdrive.

results...

Forum users will probably not see it until Ultimate Edition 2.0 release, "The Team" will have there hands on it well before. Sorry I do like things fully tested before the end users see it.

Thanks on behalf of "The Team",

Hello there Mangoo, and welcome to the forums.

OK, lets start with a flew options shall we?
1. I am willing to wager that you have a friend who has a relatively blazing fast boadband connection. well if you do, ask them if they don't mind if you utilize their time and bandwidth for about an hour or so ( Remember to bring your own DVDs < one to keep and one to share> and Remember to check the MD5's) after the download you can show them a little of what Ultimate edition is about. Thats the fun of having a live dvd. finally thank them profusely. <BREW> :D :D <BREW> .

2. you can go over to here http://www.osdisc.com/cgi-bin/view.cgi/ ... tuultimate
or here ---> http://www.linuxcd.org/view_distro.php? ... 0ae5d716a9
for a nominal fee, of making the disk and shipping + handling you can purchase a disk.

3. PM me and I will see if Ican send you one if you live relatively close :) .

4. If you have ubuntu, you can attempt to create your o :) own version of ultimate ( gonna take awhile to get it as good as "TheeMahn's.) using a few tools on the forums.

With that being said, I hope that these will be able to expound upon your options.

The OS disc option above is good, I've used them before, and even though their latest is 1.8, you wouldn't be disappointed with that version till they added 1.9, I'm running 1.8 on one machine and 1,9 on another, love them both!!!

Mangoo

A torrent download would leave you a smaller chance of corruption, as it's a self-checking system.

Additionally, it is entirely possible that corruption has taken place in the burning to DVD rather than the downloading. Just in case, you may like to re-burn the DVD, but s.l.o.w.l.y - don't set it to "maximum possible", but set it to 4x (or lower if you're really paranoid).

It may not help you, but it has helped me in the past :)
