Help & support for Ultimate Edition 1.9

Repo problem

Postby Kalidor » Thu Sep 11, 2008 3:33 pm

Hi. Just installed 1.9. It's amazing, but for two little things.
when i run ultamatix it just starts and closes by itself after some seconds.
apt-get update doesn't fetch these repos:
Failed to fetch http://ubuntusoftware.info/dists/hardy/ ... ackages.gz 404 Not Found
Failed to fetch http://repoubuntusoftware.info/dists/ha ... ackages.gz 404 Not Found

I connect to the Main Server.

Any ideas?

Open up a terminal and type sudo apt-get update again. See if that fixes the problem(from you start menu under accessories). You can also check the repos in Synaptic and see what is in there. Sometimes apt-get doesn't "get" you anything the first time. Internet glitch no doubt. I blame everything on MS these days. It is probably their fault!!!

I don't personally use Ultimatix. I either install debian packages downloaded from the web or use Synaptic or apt-get. When I see a package I want to try out I check Synaptic or apt and see if it's available if not I look for a debian package. In most cases debian packages will work. Ah so much software and so little time.
