Thanks for the link. Much appreciated. Will post back with results. ;)

Thanks, I am indeed striving for perfection, I have had bad reviews, none of which top 10 in google, damn I am #1 there now. I "try" to make it all that and a bag of chips the "haters" are always there (most likely a windows user) O.K. with me, I am trying to bring the world together, even if it is one step at a time.

Please post what you think of it, I have not implemented synaptic yet or exclusive lock, but an understanding.

Do not think the code is not there as Ubuntus update manager does, as an example:
Code: Select all
def unlock_apt():
        """unlock here to make sure that lock/unlock are always run pair-wise (and don't explode on errors)"""
        try:
            apt_pkg.PkgSystemUnLock()
        except SystemError:
            print "WARNING: trying to unlock a not-locked PkgSystem"
            pass

I will not BS you or anyone else. Do not think they are w/o error. How about I take the time to re-write it in C and shut it all down, I bet you money a mainstream contributor to Debian, rethink me (the haters), not you?

Most even when I do and view it as I hate c more then enough to understand... No I am not playing when I do so. How many programs have I written that utilize the API (windows world)? Hell I could have written that. I will not say anymore.

THEEMAHN, Trying Ultimatix on DREAMLINUX 3.x (also Debian based), and so-far...NO PROBLEMS!!!
I have about half of the software installed (working on this as I have time) without issues.
Just posted to give you a heads-up...

Anyway, keep up the good work, and I look forward to Ultimate Edition 1.9.
I do some beta-testing of my own as well, and I sometimes intentionally bork my setup(s) to learn what and what not to do.

I have been playing with a script I wrote that will download the "newest" git pull compiz fusion and plugins and build it just for your computer.

I will post it in admin section for them to play with / find bugs, but not today I have decided I am going to take a day off maybe even play a video game or 2.

TheeMahn,
I would like to thank you for all your hard work. I have been useing Ultimate since version 1.7 and have allways loved the work you have done. Even though I am new to your distro and to linux for that matter I can appreciate good work! So thanks again. <BREW>

Side Note: I was an avid Windows user, not happy but still and avid user until I found Linux. I have installed numerous distros in the short time I have been using Linux and there are only 3 Distros I have come to really like. The First listed is Ubuntu, the first Linux distro I actually Liked and used to replace Windows. The 2nd is Linux Mint. and 3rd is Ultimate. This order does not signify which one I like the best just the order in which I discovered them. Notice they are all Ubuntu based and gnome based for GUI. I just like gnome :) So if it were not for people like your self I would have still been stuck in MS Windows Hell. Thanks for taking your time to give us an alternate/ replacement OS!!! :D
My PC Specs: 16 GB DDR3-1333 Ram/ 1TB SATA HDD/ 250GB SATA HDD/ AMD 64 Athlon x2 220 2.8Ghz/ EVGA GeForce GTX 260/ CORSAIR PSU-850TX 850W / Onboard Audio/ 23" Acer HD LED.

Just installed your Ultimate Edition Themes and they work great and look awesome. Great job TheeMahn. Thanks again. <BREW>

I have also used you Ultimatix script on a couple of different computers with official distro X release installed, and everything works like a charm. You have once again out done your self. :mrgreen:

Thanks, have spent 2 days finishing off Ultimate Edition 1.9 as can be seen above... Have not have had the time to work on Ultamatix since then, but will get back to it shortly.

Thanks again,

TheeMahn
