[SOLVED] Huawei E220 & aMSN/Pidgin

Postby xtremesupremacy3 » Fri Oct 17, 2008 4:16 pm

Hey there,

You all ok?

I got a question.
I'm currently having to resort to using a Huawei E220 3G thingy (you know, like internet through a simcard). Now after messing no end, I finally got it working through wvdial and all seems to work good.
But there is 1 problem, and to me...its big!

aMSN...the messenger I trust and love will not connect, having cried I switched to Pidgin to find the same problem! I looked at Preferences inside aMSN to find it lists it as 'not connected' to the internet?!

Please tell me there is someone who either had same problem and fixed it, or has just an answer.
Web messenger sucks!

And I scoured Google without luck, besides, I don't speak Spanish, so I can't read most of the pages

Thanks!
Arthur

All I can suggest is go to the computer junk store and get a used lan card(don't pay more than 5 bucks for it).

Oh don't t me wrong, it's not that I haven't got any other way to get online.

I got built in Wireless and a Lan card in my lappy, but due to where I am right now (long story) I am unable to get the usual internet, but I need the internet so settled for the 'Telfort Huawei' thing. Bettter than nothing I guess.

Ok, for someone having had some problem, I'm a dumbass and heres what I did so it worked.

First, I downloaded newest aMSN
Second I disabled the Network Manager

That's it.
