hotmail

Postby witblits1970 » Thu Sep 25, 2008 6:50 am

i have a hotmail account and when i tried to access i last night to try and catch up on the rest of the world i noticed i need to do a browser update. thing is i did an update minutes prior receiving that message. is there an issue with the latest update or has MS done something to hotmail and not told anybody? if the latter then that would make sense. i tried to update things again but it would not as my system was already up to date.
thanks

howdy wit...what are you checking your hotmail thru?? M$ changed their server structure again couple of months ago to ... dang, I don't remember now what they changed to ...but anyway, they changed it...I use to check mine under thunderbird using webmail plugin...i got that same notice before with the same results you're getting, but it still let me check my email, so I just didn't pay it any mind long as I could read my mail...I don't use hotmail anymore for anything (changed my email over to my isp account)

Ok..so you're just going to the Hotmail site itself ... just tried it myself and see what you're getting...I'm not going to try to upgrade/update FF from M$'s site (call me paranoid but I wouldn't put it past them to install something in FF to hook you up the M$ way )...It's a pretty sure bet it's something they've done with their servers again...

Yes, they have changed their servers again, it also affects aMSN people that like to instant message. I don't know if there is a fix for it or not, but I'm with Angel on this one... I'm not bending to M$ anymore. I'll go with something else before I do that.

-btw, are you running Firefox3 or 2?

NP..just right click on it and open with 'Archive Manager' or 'extract here', which will pull it out to another folder on your desktop if the tar.bz file is on your desktop

Gonna have to wait for someone that knows how to install from a source file...I've tried 3 times by 3 different guides and I've not been successful at installing a source file yet...don't know what it is I'm missing, but I'm missing something somewhere...sorry Wit...I'm sure someone will come along shortly...
