Title bar Disappears when compiz is managing my windows

I loose the title (drag) bar of all windows when I switch to compiz window manager. Upon switching back to metacity widow manager they are restored. I could live with this but... cairo dock gets a black rectangle around entire dock while metacity is managing, and not under compiz. Any help is appreciated. And yes I am a very newbie!

Welcome to Ultimate Edition...have you enabled Emerald as window manager while in Compiz?
Applications>System tools>Compiz Fusion Icon...can drag Icon to the top panel for a faster set-up.
Anyways click that, there will be a small icon to the right on the top panel..right click that..and select Emerald, while in Compiz...see image

results after i sudo aptitude reinstall compiz-fusion-plugins-main

I am having the same problem and when I did as stated (clicking on the Compiz Fusion Icon, got the icon on my top taskbar, enabled Emerald, reloaded the Window Manager).....nothing changed, still no dragbar!? AND, every window _has_ to load as far up as far as possible on the upper left-hand side of the screen, so, I have to slide the taskbar out of the way to access the menu selections. Compiz is enabled for my Window Manager, Emerald is enabled for my Window Decorator...how do I get the dragbar back without disabling Compiz / Appearance > Visual Effects > Extra?? (or is that where my problem lies, with the Visual Effects?)

It is _frustrating_, to say the least, to have to slide the taskbar off to the side to access the menu! [sigh]

No, my installing SELinux did not _fix_ the problem, just exacerbated (made it worse) the problem! Now I cannot boot into Ultimate Edition....it reported "cannot find init' about a thousand gillion times before I did a 3 finger salute to that display (I waited a bit to be sure that that was all it was going to do).

Now my question is: (re)install or update from the Live CD? Probably install (clean) is what I'll choose.

I have Windows XP, Windows Vista, Mandriva 2008 AND Ultimate Edition 1.8 installed on a 300 Gb hdd (the 2 linux are on logical partitions, as is Windows Vista). I can no longer access Windows Vista partition, as I guess the new Grub install messed something up(?) and I'll have to _try_ to fix this, somehow......

Hello all -
I'm going to go against the grain here. I personally don't run emerald on my install. I used to all the time, but found that just the stock compiz / gtk? window decorator does a fine job. Have you just simply tried to revert to that one? Hit ALT+F2 then enter

This help? Please pardon my ignorance on the subject... I'm no Compiz/Emerald expert by anymeans. If the above codes work, then make sure to add them in your sessions to load everytime. This should not normally have to be done, but for some reason it sounds like your both having the same issue - so something is borked. drama will prob come back with some more info on the results of your compiz file you attached.
