1.8 Upgrade script brocken?

Help & support for Ultimate Edition 1.8

1.8 Upgrade script brocken?

Postby bikindude » Mon Jul 07, 2008 11:39 am

I just installed UE1.8 on another computer and im having a strange problem. I click on the upgrade icon on the desktop and it goes through, I select ultimate edition from the list and then it says upgrading distro and then stops. I remember it doing a whole lot more when i installed it on my other computers. Is this something i should be concerned about?

I do think that it is slightly borked right now .. nothing to worry about though. Look at my other post about this same issue here:

The repository listing for ubuntusoftware.info is missing after running the upgrade script/ icon as well. Like I said earlier, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

OK, cool. I did read that post. Wasn't sure if that was the same issue. I added the repo you listed there and ran the update. It installed a bunch of stuff. So do i not have to worry about that upgrade icon anymore now?

no, don't worry about it, if you've run it you've run it.

So once the upgrade script has run, is there any use for the desktop icon any more?

If not, I can safely delete it?

Cheers
