Help & support for Ultimate Edition 1.8

Cube Deformation auto unchecks [SOLVED]

Postby criminosis » Sat May 24, 2008 11:14 pm

Just started out using Ultimate Edition, and so far i'm hopeful. I've been distro hoping for the last week, trying to find a distro that didn't freeze/crash no stop on my laptop (Compaq Presario v6000). So far, Ultimate Edition has held out, however i have a quark.

I was really interested in the cube deformations that were screenshotted, however when i tried to activate the plugin, it just unchecks within seconds. Is there something i need to set up before hand?

Thanks for the help.

just played around a little more.

Apparently it isn't just this plug in. My screensaver, dodge, and even my error notification plugins are doing it too. No doubt others also.

Also, attempting to set it to 4 desktops, gets it pushed back down to 2 automatically.

Howdy criminosis & Welcome to Ultimate !! Right click in an empty space on your desktop, click on 'Change Desktop Background', click on 'Visual Effects Tab'. If "Extra" isn't selected, then select. Also, do you have the 'Fusion-Icon' enabled and does it appear on the upper right side of your top bar (blue box with arrow)??

If you don't see the compiz-fusion icon you can enable it under applications-->system tools. that worked for me. I had the same problem.

Wow that did it. Kind of a fickle thing.

I tried the extra thing, but that didn't do it, so i found a way to trigger "custom" to appear. That didn't quite do it either.

But turning on the icon did it instantly. Thanks a lot!
