partial Upgrade message [solved..but why]

Postby ima » Thu May 22, 2008 11:44 pm

My update manager showed I had 17 (or so) updates. I clicked ok and I had a error message "partial Upgrade or cancel". I okayed partial and now I have 5several files that won't upgrade because "unable to authenticate".

What's up? is it a problem?

Okay after some more searching I found my own problem. (It's amazing..can't find an answer for 2 days and as soon as I post this I find my answer)
I had an error at at one of my repos and running
wget -q http://packages.medibuntu.org/medibuntu-key.gpg -O- | sudo apt-key add - && sudo apt-get update
fixed my problem.

Now why did this work and is it okay that I did it?

Mine did the same thing the other night ima, problem was it couldn't get Skype installed, after running dpkg, apt-get update/upgrade, straightened itself out...could be yours glitched getting the medibuntu key or other communication problems with medibuntu repo...glad it worked out for ya :mrgreen:
