Ultimate Edition 1.8 32 bit

Help & support for Ultimate Edition 1.8

Re: Ultimate Edition 32 bit???

Postby nicgom » Thu May 22, 2008 6:23 pm

Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras

this one worked,

the system is running faster than with U.U.1.7, but i'm having more issues, like the Visual effects which now are not enabled, i find this curios, with 1.6 or 1.7 no problem, but iĺl keep checking, maybe i did something wrong.

thanks for helping.

I wish I could pre-install them for you, but have no interest in being sued ;) I hope you can understand, otherwise we would have ATI & Nvidia drivers built in. 64 Bit page has been updated... now onto the 32 bit homepage.

Sorry,

Standing Baph-O-Advice When Doing a Fresh Install of Ubuntu/Ultimate Edition

Do ALL your software installs, ALL your updates et cetera (and I DO mean all of them, I mean freakin' EVERYTHING, got it? EVERY... FREAKIN' ... THING!!!) and then, and NOT before this...

THEN... You install your video drivers.
I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of how awesome I am...

i´m running U.U. 1.8 on a averatec laptop with an integrated intel chip 32mb shared, 1 gb ram, 1ghz intel celeron m processor, so no nvidia nor ati, is there anything else to check?

i´m thinking to reinstall, i tried once and i got an error message, the second time it didn´t happen again, just took about 30 mins which is longer then what 1.7 with gnome and kde needed, that´s the only thing thar occurs to me now.

thanks to all of you, this kind of help is the great counterpart to the great system TheeMahn is allowing us all to enjoy,

ok might wanna try giving us your integrated video card number, sometimes you can use ati/nvidia drivers for compiz but you won't get much results. sometimes it's worth a try tho.

It's cool TheeMahn, we do not want you to get into trouble either. ;)

I think using "sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras" is easy anough. <BREW>

You are correct as well it will indeed install what he asked for, yours or whoever posted it, will install additional software, a good thing w32 codecs & msfonts. I only provided what he asked for. Either way good. Perhaps yours or whoevers post better.

it did not work, i just restarted the laptop, i also tried to install the ms driver with Wine, but not possible, i get a message that says: there is no hardware for this driver in this equipment.

so i'll keep trying for a couple of days, if nothing happens might reinstall, or is there a big difference betweeen this new version and 1.7, because it worked everything perfect with it.

no i have to go to the university,
