**1.) You will need to add the Ultimate Edition repo to your sources.list. I quote TheeMahn on this:
TheeMahn wrote:In a terminal:
- Code: Select all
sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list
add the following to the bottom of your list (note it is spelled different & on purpose):
- Code: Select all
deb http://repoubuntusoftware.info/ harty all #Ultimate Repo
Also note that while your in there, you should remove any and all reference to Automatix or Automatix2 in the sources.list.
**2.) Get the fastest repositories for your area:
Go to System>>Administration>>Software Sources. Once opened, on the first tab go to the drop-down box that says "download from" ---- Server for United States --
Then click quit, it will ask you to reload, go ahead. (I'm assuming this is the same as sudo apt-get update, and reloads your sources.list to reflect the changes you made) --- Now you won't have to wait 2-years for your downloads.
click on the drop down box and select a source near you, or just click on the button that says "Select Best Server" This will find the fastest automatically (I don't know how well this works)
DRAMA EDIT: i fixed the deb line daddy. shouldve been repoubuntusoftware not reposubuntusoftware...all fixed now though
Thanks drama. However, I coppied and pasted it from somewhere in the forum- so I imagine, many have the wrong repo listing in their sources.list now
