You talking about dual boot? Its very easy. What OS's do you have installed right now? Post back some more details on your drive/ system specs and which OS's your running right now and I could prob. help you.

No I mean install the KDE4 desktop within UE1.7, in the same manner that I can load gnome/kde/xfce.
This is because I want to try out KDE4 but I dont want to do a reinstall, so that I can just switch back to
gnome.

You are looking to get yourself into a lot of work!!! More work than I'm willing to do. I am not the guy to be helping you out on this adventure. TheeMahn is the one I would look for. Hopefully he'll chime in. He's a very very busy boy though, so if time is an issue, then you might want to do some study :D

I understand, i thought that it would be just a simple apt-get, or script. But if its going to take too much time and skills (which I lack), then forget about it, its not that really important. I'll stick with gnome/kde3.5 for the
meantime.
