DVD Label

Trying hard to promote Ultimate Edition, I've been burning and handing out a substantial number of DVD's to clients - but providing a blank white face DVD looks very 'Ho-Hum' and unappealing. As a very non-artistic person, I would like to ask someone/anyone with any graphics capabilities to produce a kick-ass professional looking DVD label or template that would do justice to the operating system. I have seen a number of really good looking ones for all flavours of Ubuntu - shouldn't we have something similar/better for ours? Any takers?

Cheers.

Hello Moebius.

We don't normally do that type of distribution, so we don't have any disc templates/design that we normally use. But heres a good application that you could use to get started "DiscWrapper" or you can just sit back & see if some will drop by with a good design that you could use if necessary.

DiscWrapper 1.2.2:

Hi, These are what I put on my U_E hand-outs ,I give ULTIMATE EDITION away to the less informed brethren of humanity ! So they to may see the light ! And when they buy one of my band's CD's ,:D Not much, But better than a DVD with my pidgin scratching on it, Only problem is you have to "fit" the label to your type of " label paper" ,where the labels are on the paper, there are many different types (Thats why the maker of the paper supplies there own driver or accessories CD) and you have to scale the DVD labels to fit your paper, All can be done with gimp. :) I'm all way's working on new designs (BTW I had to make up some more labels, As I have 2.3 now to copy, and my printer is out of ink, So I had to use my girlfriend's XP, (just for the printer) For the first time in 6 month's.............OMG ! :o that was painful !...In the future, If I run out of ink, I'll just use a sharpie !

Thanks guys,
Both are great suggestions - had no idea discwrapper existed (you learn something new every day!). If I can come up with something half as good as your design johnnyg I'll be happy - and I can finally put my sharpies away. :D <BREW>
