ninhalo5.
Just had a couple quick questions about running Windows through Virtual Box. As we all know Windows is a breeding ground for viruses, is there any difference running windows through the Virtual Box? will our machines be just as at risk for viruses? if so being Windows is being ran directly through Linux if a virus happens to get installed will that effect the operation of Linux as well? or will anti virus protect both Linux and the VM?
Thanks
Hello ninhalo5, Linux do not care for MS Viruses, the Language is not the same in MS & Linux.
So if Virus will be on Linux system nothing will let the Virus to work on the Linux system.
From the other hand,
If you use VBox & install MS yes you must use Anti Virus install on the VBox to protect the MS.
Linux has Anti Virus install as Default on the system (very strong Anti Virus) just to let you know.
On the U.E we have 2 of them Virus scanner+clam AV.
So for your Question we are protected in Linux against Viruses,
And in Linux there are no Viruses as I have try to explain to you here.
The only thing that you have to take care of is your MS Virus protection to be set and Updated.
