I think that i should reinstall ubuntu 1.7 and try to run it again... i have nothing to lose.. i think.. as far as i am a new user and i want to learn more about linux.

I have to ask 2 more things:
1. Does the fact that the cube doesnt work and that the compiz comfig manager doesnt start has to do with the fact that my grafic card is 128??? Ive installed linux on my old computer in order to learn them.
2. I ve installed linux ultimate on my new computer wich is core 2 duo and has a nvidia 8800 grafic card. Why envy tells me that it cannot find drivers for my card??
Get the latest Envy From his site
download to desktop
install with a double click
open envy
select install the Nvidia drivers manually
select 169.12
envy will do the rest
yes... have envy write the changes to xorg.conf
when all is done... reboot
