Have you tried running Xfire with it unpacked to /home/Maddog/.wine/drive_c/Program Files I've had good luck with apps that had to be dragged there the hard way.

its not workn so i need to find a chat prog soon asp that will work in linux ubuntu
I read, on Game Tome, some people are using Skype, but they had to dial it in. Came across this link for Video Chat Software, might be something useful there.
