Is 1GB RAM fine?

I'm going to purchase one of the ION mini PC's to run XBMC on. I have a spare 1GB of RAM laying around and I'm wondering if that would be enough to run XBMC without penalty? If it's potential problem, I have no problem spending the extra $30 or so to get 2GB, but since it's laying here doing nothing and it's resale value is next to nothing, it would be great if it would do the trick. Will it be enough?

1gb is very doable with Ultimate Edition yes.

Just remove apps not used via startup applications.

Remove some eye candy and run her as lean and mean as you feel good about.

Xbmc uses around 128 mb of ram tops. Ultimate Edition run lean on gnome classic, I can get to around 230 mb of ram in use at boot.

Welcome to Ultimate Edition forums, we hope you enjoy your stay.

Please loose the advertising links. Keep it to Linux and Ultimate Edition based content.

We also have no problem with you sharing personal stuff as long as your not trying to pitch or sale stuff.
