Unless I missed it in the list, it doesn't appear to be recognized by your desktop? Try another port making sure to exclude any extension cables.

I see, you have lspci output so this is going through:
00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801JI (ICH10 Family) HD Audio Controller
I thought I was looking at lsusb. Can you manually select the hardware from Sound Preferences?

Hardware related problems are hard to troubleshoot online. You will have to provide a lot of information, and much of it wouldn't come close to being onsite and having a good look... <BREW> Have you tried a live DVD to test with? Maybe then that would negate the issue being hardware related, which is what you really want, to get these speakers working...

What system are you running on your laptop? I ask because doing a quick search the z333 speakers are supported by ALSA not Pluseaudio(which is default audio system in 16.04 now) Likely the solution to your problem is switching the audio system in UE5.0 from Pulse to ALSA to get your hardware to work. Try
Code: Select all
 alsactl restore
at the terminal and see if your speakers start to work.
- Cheers!
Laptop: MSI GE70 0ND-032US(2012)
Intel Core i7 - 3610QM / RAM DDR3 8GB / Intel HD Graphics 4000
Nvidia GeForce GTX660M / 2GB GDDR5
HDD: 1TB / SSD: N/A
OS : Ultimate Edition 5.0 LTS 64Bit
Desktop: Too old to boot, R.I.P first gen AMD64 duel core.
