I started a thread earlier today that can be deleted, locked, or just ignored. I was frustrated when I posted it, not only am I having this problem, but apparently I installed my linux swap file to the partition that boots windows, but that is a problem for another thread. So I'm running off the live usb at the moment, so please keep that in mind when suggesting fixes.

I ran a live usb session of 3.7, everything worked perfect, liked what I saw, so I installed. Reboted, unplugged the usb, logged in and started setting up everything, (window behaviour, cursor selection, etc...), when I started getting error msg's that one thing or another had crashed. Then the video crashed, screen went blank. I rebooted, thinking maybe it was just a fluke, got to logo screen, red line made it halfway across the screen, video crashed again. One other time I had installed an OS, and had it crash every time I ran it, I reinstalled, and after that it worked correctly, so I reinstalled. Rebooted, same video crash. I rebooted into Advanced options, lines of code flying by, then in stalled at the following three lines:

[4.8644327] ACPI: Video Device [OVGA] (multi-head: yes Rom: no Post: no)

[4.8644328] input: Video Bus /devices/LNXSYSTM:00/device:00/PNPOAO8:00 LNX Video:01/input/input 8

[4.864588] [drm] Initilized i915 1.6.0 20080730 for 0000:00:02.0 on minor 0

I rebooted into live usb searched the internet trying to find a way to update video driver, from within live usb, with no luck so far. I don't understand why live will run, but installed won't. I've ran lshw not intalled, lcpi, I don't remember, not even going to lie about it. I've been running Zorin (ubuntu variaent) for a year now, but I'm still a noob at the command line. I know I am running the i915 video card, and there is a i915/generic video driver installed, after reading everything I could find and checking everything that was suggested, I still don't know anymore than I did really. The closest thing I found was a mouse driver hanging on boot, tried all the steps suggested in that thread, no luck.

Let me know what else you need me to do or information you need.

Edit: the live usb just popped up a msg:
