Utimate Edition 3.6 Installation Issues.

hello i down loaded 3.6 lite from copy but when i tried to install i get a message saying grub-pc not loading,any ideas how to get around this please?

i was using 3.5.2 and i think i have nvideo

i ran into the exact same issue with install.

was trying to install on my laptop gateway 7811FX, I tried both cd and usb install, MANY times each and always fail at the same point of install. grub-pc can not be installed to this location. I tried moving it every possible place and it failed every time, sadly

2+gig centrino cpu, nvidia 9800m gpu, 4 gig ram.

was trying to install to a ocz 120gig vertex 3 ssd.

perhaps someone can post step by step the commandline install procedure?

I have never seen such an error at install and I been playing around with MANY linux distro's. I"m stumped.

I dont know if you have tried burning another disc and trying but try it. Try using unetbootin from and making a bootable flash disk.
For successful booting try passing the 'ACPI=off' or 'nomodeset' at the grub Ultimate Edition screen..

how exactly do you do this? and would this perhaps help me as well?

the only thing I can think of is to reburn the OS on disc again. as redownloading it will do nothing, as the file HASH matches.

as stated before I have tried many times with both CD in stall and USB (unetboobin) install.

the only thing I can think of is perhaps I choose the wrong OS when set up unetbootin. this OS (ultimate) as far as unetbootin is concerned should be Ubuntu and 12.10 correct?

If you are running an ubuntu based release you may also try using Startup Disc Creator to create the USB. Also make sure you verify that the MD5 is correct on your .iso.

ACPI and nomodeset are parameters for graphics display when there are issues with the Graphics Card, in order to ascertain if this may indeed be an issue you should add your hardware specifications to your signature through the user control panel under profile.
