Thanks for that info. DX3, but what I'm missing is the control using ctrl & alt and the arrows. In Beryl you could use all 4 arrows, while spinning cube. I feel it is something that I'm NOT disabling. You know when you hit ctrl & alt and down arrow it spreads out the various cube faces, something there must be disabled in order to use all 4 arrows, that's what I'm guessing anyway... Just haven't found it yet. Seems like the only way you could view cube caps. Is it possible that the horizontal or vertical numbers might be what I have to adjust, I don't think that's what it is, I still think I must disable something.

You know what, I though the same thing awhile back. It is not an adjustment on vertical size though if that is what your thinking. btw my cntrl+alt+right arrow or left arrow does make my cube rotate right or left. the up arrow does not do it as beryl did though, you can set it to initiate cube though (where it zooms back and give you an isometric view) To be quite honest with you, I have allways felt that Beryl was alot easier to configure and things just worked without all the crazy adjustments ... just my opinion ;) The adjustment that you are looking for should be in ccsm>>Rotate Cube>>general>> here you should see that it is set to as you wish. I'm thinking that you might not have the check box ticked to enable rotate cube?

You know, maybe I haven't been as clear in my explanations as I should be, and thank you for your patience. I have the cube spinning, works great, have the speed I want and the maximum draw back distance, and reflection and all. The only thing that I'm missing that I had with Beryl is the ability to rotate the cube so that you could view top and bottom cube caps, and all this could be done while spinning the cube, all you had to do was use up and down arrows in conjunction with left and right. This may not be available with compiz, but I've seen screen shots where cube is zoomed back and top or bottom, and two sides are visible. These may not be with the use of compiz but Beryl. I am glad to see that Beryl and Beryl mgr. were included in 1.6... might just have to return to it. I do like compiz, but I also like Beryl, just have to decide which set of features I can live without.

All I've ever had to do to rotate was push down on the middle mouse button on the desk top and move the mouse around.

I finally got it! It's hard being so ignorant! Rotate cube... Pointer invert Y was not checked... never occured to me that this set of actions was now relegated to the mouse as opposed to the keyboard as with Beryl. DaddyX3 was right, and so was Zero Prime. THANKS for the help guys, it's so nice to be on a forum where people actually help nOOb idiots like me. Give me some time and I will try to learn...But boy do I have a long way to go!!!
