I was hoping to have my HowTo posted by now, but ran into a problems with the screenshots. When I resize them they are blurred and trying to sharpen them only makes them look worse. Will do it again using a high contrast theme and hopefully that will fix the problem. To get the ball rolling I will post a Christmas wallpaper I have been working on. It is not finished, but everything on it has been drawn in Xara.

Its Done
Here is my HowTo on drawing a logo in Xara. Its my first go at one so I hope it goes well. Let me know what you like and dislike about it so I can improve.
If you like the idea of it i can do one on the candles I drew for the Christmas Tree.
If you have a go at drawing the logo it would be great to see your result.
Good Luck

Nice! That PDF howto makes things simple!
Now I have a question, where and how can I get that piece of software named Xara? I've been in their official site and I see there are a few different products, and they all cost money! Aren't we in an open source based community?
If someone can help, pleas PM me

Xara can be found in Synaptic also when in Add/Remove enable all available applications and can be found in Graphics also Blender is another great 3d rendering program..a real steep learning curve. Xara in Linux does not offer there 3d programs in Linux yet...but an excellent program in a Windows format..

Yeah, thanks, I've found and installed Xara, I've also made my first try using it and created this last avatar out of a picture taken from a video, I trimmed and made the shadow with Xara, and the rest with Gimp, sizeing transparent background, etc.
What do you think?

Transparency what?

Nevermind, I'm just happy I manage to do SOMETHING with that program, as a start...

Here's a very noobish logo I've made with the help of spider's PDF, tell me what do you think.

Ultimate Edition Logo

Now, from here and making it shine in golden or silver metallic color it's far from me, not to mention making it fully 3D bodied and also a spinning animation!!! You do all that on Xara? I don't seem to find any way to make an animation with it, could it be that the Linux version supports only 2D?
