New Computer Questions

Feedback for Ultimate Edition 4.2

New Computer Questions

Postby S3KshuN8 » Sat Dec 27, 2014 10:22 pm

So my cousin is building me a new gaming computer. I don't know the exact specs on it yet, but I think it has an 8 core CPU, at least 8 GB RAM, and close to 1 TB drive space including an SSD boot drive. I don't know what the video card will be, except that it is high-end. When I get the computer I can post the exact specs on everything. I'd like to put on the most recent LTS version of Ultimate Edition so is that going to be 4.2.1 x64? Do I get that from sourceforge as an ISO or should I get TMOSB and build from there? I've only been able to successfully install Ultimate Edition 3.8 on other computers up to now. I think there was a problem with the ISO download of 4.2 lite which resulted in a couple of DVD coasters being made. (No, I don't have a flash drive.) I'm sure I'll have additional questions but I would like to have a game plan for when I do get the thing, which should be soon.

Thanks for your time and help.

you shouldn't have to build it, as TheeMahn already has:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/ultimateedition/
for the 4.3 x64 version.

do check the MD5 before you burn, since you won't do the usb stick thing.

You should probably buy a flash drive. If there is no money for it, take the DVD drive out of the build since it is mostly worthless.

Oh wow, you're right. I already have 186GB on this disk and plenty of room for more!

Excellent point. Flash drives are hard to scratch.
