Help & support for Ultimate Edition 4.0

Wifi problems in Live mode.

Postby glsmaxx » Mon May 26, 2014 4:53 pm

Let me start off by saying this is an awesome distro!

I am running off the live disk and I have no Wi Fi connection. I don't have any drivers showing and it is asking for them. Could someone help me out?

Thanks.

I have am running Ultimate Edition 4.0 in live cd mode on a Dell Latitude D630 4gig mem no hardrive. (on a 16 gig flashdrive)

The wifi radar no work and I am unable to connect to the internet using the live cd mode of Ultimate Edition 4.0.

So only workaround I found to access the internet with it was to reboot and select "Install Ultimate Edition 4.0" on boot up

then when it loads use the wifi icon on the top right hand corner and connect to the internet then click "Quit installation" and it loads the

Ultimate Edition 4.0 with internet working.

I had wanted to enable persistent to my live cd mode version but it wifi broken.

I had added persistent to my ultimate edition 3.4 full version (not the light one) and it worked excellent. I wanted to to the same with this newer one

ultimate edition 4.0.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for making an excellent product.

Open a terminal type "sudo nm-applet"

This will load a wifi icon on the top right hand corner of the menu bar and you reconnect to the internet or connect to a different SSID.
