So i did the whole tutorial (was very helpful and well made!) only problem is that my audio still is not working. The problem might be that i have two drivers one is the sigmatel STAC9205 WHICH in the ALSA mixer only has the tabs Mic Jack Mode and IEC958 playback source but has full volume control. ATI R6xx HDMI which has no volume control and only one tab called IEC958. I have the ATI R6xx turned off since it really seems to have no use. So right now i have my output to headphones yet I get zero noise in my headphones.
Thanks for the help so far.

Thank you for the update on your issue , I will need some screen shots (for the alsa mixer +pulse mixer + Device Chooser) from you to add with all Tabs of every mixer please.
Then we will solve the 3 mixer issue (it is there and can be added from synaptic).

I hope this is the right area for this. I'm looking for a driver for the M-Audio USB souncard. The system by default works out of the box W/no configuration, but I want to change the bit rate and latency.

Can anyone give me very simple step by step instructions how to make my headphones working? I have all the time the same problem that I mentioned earlier and I can't fix it.

Hello marcin.

I do not understand way you lose your sound if you just change the output for the sound to the headphones.
Did you have change the plug to the input of the headphones?
