cell, how do i find out about compatability on hardware, i've looked on the manufacurer's websites to see but they don't list compatability with os', or do i need to look somewhere else? i did however find it on asus' website

Usually I would search the Ubuntu forums,and see if there are any issues with the hardware in question.As a general rule Linux does better on older hardware,and nothing to exotic...but the kernel is improving a ton recently.For t.v. cards,and chips check out the mythtv forums.I wouldn't buy ATI at all.Skip over the Intel chips with a laptop.The kernel is good for most on board sound (intel is mostly cool) chips,and not the exotic pci cards.Mostly a lot of hardware will work.For those that don't you have to compile the kernel your self...not an easy task for a new user.

You can always list what you have in mind,and we would be glad to help you spend your hard earned cash. ;)

Hey yall!!! got the new rig and i'm completely happy with it. specs are in siggy AND EVERYTHING IS WORKING GREAT, no compatability issue what so ever.
AND YES THERE MAY BE WINDOWS ON THE TOWER BUT NONE IN IT!!!!!!!
RUNNING Ultimate Edition 2.5 WITHOUT A HITCH
I'M AS GIDDY AS A LITTLE GIRL LOL
AND ONLY SPENT $1400 ON IT
