Hello, Let me rephrase; what I wanted to say was that the first few times that you turn on the computer (after installing the OS) and get to your desktop, I have seen my processor run at near or at 100% for several hours, with no apps open at that time. I have seen this on every install of UBUNTU or distro's based on UBUNTU. As well as on some other Linux distro's, so I believe that the OS is indexing, etc, as I always turn on all the extra special effects and move data from one computer to another, soon after installation. I usually have more than one of my computers on at a time, and would noticed the system monitor going full tilt when I go back to do something on the 2nd computer.
